Activision delays court date with Infinity Ward Duo
Activision has been granted a delay for its court date with Infinity Ward founders Jason West and Vince Zampella. The court date had been scheduled for May 7, is now May 29th.
The Infinity Ward founders left to found their new studio Respawn, their first title will be published through EA. They allege that Activision owes them $125 millions in unpaid royalties. West and Zampella also believe they own the rights to the Modern Warfare Brand.
Activision are claiming a counter-suit that has also been accepted. It is targeting both EA and the IW founders, EA being the main rival to Activision. Activision seeks to sue for $400 million, claiming that West and Zampella conspired against them with EA and recruited numerous Activision employees. In truth, 40 IW members left after the duo did to join Respawn.
Silicon Knights and Epic Games are also set to meet in court on May 14th.
