Nintendo, poor Nintendo, with a record loss on the books and record production costs of two new systems being released at the same time they are certainly struggling a bit. By the way the system is advertised, it would appear that everyone in the country has a Nintendo Wii, and with the latest price drop from ASDA, it looks like that’s the aim at the very least.

ASDA have advertised in the national press today, that the new Wii, which isn’t compatible with any Gamecube discs or the accessories, like the classic controller, for just £89 and comes with Wii Sports and Wii Party.

This is clearly an attempt to get the casual gamers on side, as anyone who actually plays the system will want to be able to plug the classic controller in, or be able to use the various accessories that have been released over the past five years.
