Once upon a time it was near impossible to buy a game that was primarily developed in the West for a console, everything came from Japan and even if it wasn’t made there, the draconian restrictions put upon the developers was that it felt like it was a Japanese game. These days times have changed and things are far more relaxed. However, NIS America have today announced that the Japanese Princess game, Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland will be released in Europe soon, on the PlayStation 3.

Princess Meruru calls the tiny kingdom of Arls her own and since she was introduced to alchemy by the loved Totori Helmond, all she’s wanted to do is become an alchemist. With Totori’s guidance, Meruru sets out to develop her kingdom of Arls using the power of alchemy.

The exact release date is still to be announced, but NIS America are pegging a Spring 2012 release for Europe on the PlayStation 3.
