Blaze announce new, old console

There are consoles that are remembered fondly because they died prematurely, such as the Dreamcast, others are remembered fondly because they were amazing, such as the SNES and others are remembered because they have strange names. The NEO-GEO is such a console. Whilst many owners of this handheld system will tout it’s brilliance, those fifteen people will be alone, as no-one else remembers it. Until now.

Blaze have now confirmed that a new NeoGeo portable is going to be released in the UK at some point this year. However, the NeoeGeo X isn’t for the light of heart, it’s going to come with 20 games built in, an SD card slot, a small 3.5″ LCD screen and all for £500. Yes, £500.

The NeoGeo has never been cheap, they’ve all bordered on the premium to ultra-premium market in the past and it would appear that Blaze wish this to continue with it’s officially licensed, NeoGeo X.

Blaze’s Jason Cooper said: “The NeoGeo console has always been a personal favourite of mine and I am delighted to be involved with the development of this new handheld console. We hope to re-ignite the excitement many of us felt 21 years ago, in a more affordable manner, to a much wider audience.”
