A free to play Massive Multiplayer Online game will be added to the Call of Duty series this year. Activision and Chinese company Tencent are teaming up to bring the game to PCs. Initially the game will only be available in China with the hope of expanding to more of the world as the game grows.

The trailer shows that Call of Duty online will basically be the multiplayer experience without the single player getting in the way. The resolution appears to also have taken a hit but presumably that will be offset by the sheer amount of data it will need to actually power the game itself.

We will keep our ears to the ground for a release date outside of China if or more likely, when it happens.
