Yes, that’s right. 2012 will see the return of the classic destruction racer in the form of, Carmageddon Reincarnation. This download only game is been brought together by the original creators – Stainless Games. “Carmageddon has returned to its Indie developer roots, and the time is right to bring the game to a new audience,” said Stainless Games CEO Patrick Buckland.

They are in the process of looking for a publishing company to bring the game to fans of the series that started way back in 1997. The original Carmageddon gained notoriety for being able to run down pedestrians in order to win a race. It was censored in multiple countries including the UK and Europe and even banned in some as the people were changed from people to either zombies with green blood or robots who spurted oil when hit. It took just under a year to have the decision over turned in the UK and was eventually restored to its full bloody glory.

Some who followed the popular N64 magazine will remember that for a long while Carmageddon 64 received less than favourable review scores and was the butt of many jokes. No word of which consoles if any Carmageddon Reincarnation will be available on or if this will be a true return to form and only available through Stream, however as soon as more information comes to light, we will report it right here!
