EA have named and dated the much rumoured Medal of Honor. While we knew a follow up to the 2010 game was in the works, no official information had been made clear. That is until now it seems. The new game is named at the present Medal of Honor: Warfighter, and what’s more is that it will be out in October.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter is being developed by Danger Close studios and uses the Frostbite 2.0 engine from Battlefield 3. The multiplayer is being developed in house at EA, and not by DICE. The game will follow Tier 1 as in the previous game.

October seems like the perfect time to launch the game as it would be one year to the month when Battlefield 3 started it’s movement again CoD. Seems like another year of first person shooters on the lead up to Christmas 2012.

No further information as to what platform Medal of Honor: Warfighter will grace but it is widely expected the usual PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 set up, however it would not surprise a WiiU launch title as EA seem to have fallen head over heals with the new Nintendo console. Information and a formal announcement regarding Warfighter is expected to be shared at an EA press meeting on 6th March. More new as it happens.
