According to reports, Nintendo and Temco Koei have come to a publishing agreement for the Project Zero (Fatal Frame) series. This also includes any spin off games such as Spirit Camera game on the 3DS. What this means now is that the series which originally started life on the PlayStation 2 in 2001 will now only see light of day on Nintendo consoles.

According to website Rely On Horror: “Nintendo recently updated it’s copyright status, and seems to have full ownership of the spin-off Spirit Photography IP, and co-owns the Fatal Frame IP, including having ownership and publishing rights of this remake. Great to keep the series secure and afloat…”

If true this is obviously bad news for PlayStation and Xbox owners but great news for Nintendo fans. This would also back up Nintendo’s seriousness to bring back the hardest of the core games that think of Nintendo as the family console.
