1864The Walking Dead_logo_FLT Activision have today confirmed that the up and coming first person shooter based on the hit FX show of the same name will indeed be playable on Nintendo’s Wii U console. The game launching in March on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 is a prequel to the TV show and playing as Daryl Dixon with his brother Merle it is a battle for survival against the Walkers.

This is not to be confused by last year’s Telltale games episodic version that is based more on the comic books than the TV series. The story more follows how the brothers Dixon finds their way to Atlanta – the point where the show kicks in.

The Wii U GamePad will be used to access weapons and items in Daryl’s backpack without entering into a pause menu. This should give players a smoother gaming experience without having to stop and start. The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and now the Wii U from 23rd March.
