SEGA today announced that the latest game to be added to the Xbox Live’s Games on Demand service wil be Vanquish, which is available right now for 3200 Microsoft Points. This titles joins an expanding library of full titles available from SEGA such as Bayonetta, Aliens vs. Predator and Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing. Vanquish adds a new sci-fi mech swing to this set of games by putting the gamer in control of a versatile battle suit and waging war against hordes of soldiers and giant robots.

Vanquish brings to life a near-future story of global warfare from the minds of PlatinumGames and Shinji Mikami, creator of the Resident Evil series. Players must step into the powered battle suit of Sam, a U.S. government agent, to defend an American space station from Russian invasion. Sam must make use of an arsenal of futuristic weaponry and impressive martial arts, including the innovative sliding “boost” maneuver, which has gone on to become influential within the genre.
