I was blown away by The Falconeer when I reviewed it last year, it was a game that I was engrossed in from start to finish, and a game I still regularly go back to. It seems that the one-man dev machine that is Tomas Sala has the same feelings about the world he has created and for his next game, Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles sees players return to the Great Ursee for the next chapter in his franchise.

Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles is different from the first game in that gamers won’t be flying big birds to aid in carrying out missions, nor will pirates be shot out of the skies at the press of a button. Instead players will be tasked with building their own Bulwark, a city moulded around the cliffs of the Ursee. No release date has been given but the game will initially launch on PC.

Described as a ‘relaxed city builder’, Bulwark is a standalone experience that is set within the world of The Falconeer and can be played with no prior knowledge of the game. Features such as limitless building, freedom and creativity, are all packaged together to encourage players to become the creator of their very own Bulwark, a fortress against the endless Ursee and its fierce inhabitants.

Utilising commanders and specialists from other factions from around the world will unlock new building options, units and stories for players to explore. Sala is utilising visual style from the previous game, and from the brief trailer the game is already looking and sounding as lovely as his first game.

I was really taken with the art style of The Falconeer and am happy that the follow up is being presented in a similar vein and over the next few months, the publisher Wired Productions is set to provide more info.

Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles doesn’t currently have a release date but can be added to your Steam Wish list now.
