Microsoft have lifted the lid on one of their biggest IPs and have shown us how they intend to progress the experience offered in the previous Halo Trilogy. Halo 4 is currently deep in it’s development and we have a first look at how production is going at 343 studios – the company tasked with expanding the Halo series.

From the video we see that 343 aren’t taking the task of improving on Budgie’s precious title. The game is more customisable, more in depth and offers much more than ever before. Oh and that rifle everyone has been wanting since the original Halo is making it’s way back to Master Chief’s hands.

It also shows the motion capture techniques that will add to the realism of the game. 343 have also advised that a focus of multiplayer progression will play a part to Halo 4, with the ability to expand on the story through playing online. Of course, we expect the deathmatches to remain but it will be interesting to see how well a multiplayer campaign will play out.

Halo 4 is expected to launch around Christmas time exclusive to the Xbox 360.
