We’ve woken up this morning to the news that the team behind NieR and Drakengard series have created Voice Of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars a table top RPG coming soon. At the moment this is just a tease that a new IP is coming so there’s no word on platforms or a release date but we do have a short trailer and a rough synopsis to tell you about.

The announcement trailer above is in Japanese and as our time in Duolingo haven’t advanced too far we’re not exactly sure on what’s being said but what we do know is that Voice Of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars is a table top style RPG set in a world of swords and sorcery. The story unfolds through the medium of cards.

Inspired by games such as Dungeons & Dragons, the game is acting as a dungeon master, talking you through the story of a self proclaimed hero who sets off to slay a dragon. Your interactions with the cards will effect the path taken throughout.

The creative team includes Creative Director, Yoko Taro (NieR series, Drakengard series), Executive Director, Yosuke Saito (NieR series) and Music Director, Keiichi Okabe (Drakengard 3, NieR series), as well as Character Designer, Kimihiko Fujisaka (Drakengard series) so it’s safe to say the team are established in some of the great modern RPGs.

More information on Voice Of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars will be coming soon, we’re just not entirely sure if this will take the form of a PC, console or even a mobile game.
