Today at the Penny Arcade Exhibition held in the USA, otherwise known as PAX, Square Enix released two new trailers for their up and coming Final Fantasy game, Final Fantasy XIII-2. These trailers are two work in progress trailers that show how far the game has come in terms of looks.

In terms of the actual trailers, they show the same footage – a beautifully crafted world that one would expect from Square-Enix. The first trailer is a narrated version from the game’s developers. They talk through exactly what we should be expecting from the sequel and how they want the characters to evolve and develop more. As expected, old and new faces make an appearance, with details to follow as to who they are.

The second trailer, minus narration from Square themselves, sets up the story. Interestingly both Xbox 360 and PS3 footage is used, and even in full 1080p, it is a struggle to tell the difference!

Square-Enix appear to have created a seem-less blend from the FMVs to the gameplay, which looks absolutely staggering. This has been coupled with a new battle system, which has been created to be exciting and involving. Square have certainly come along way since the NES era of Final Fantasy!

Final Fantasy XIII-2 is due out on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 next year.
