Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will take space from the Halo series in the launch trailer reveals. Set in the year 2025, with weapons based on prototypes under testing by the military in the present. Zombies are also making a reappearance last seen in Black Ops.

The confirmed locales include a Future Los Angles which is under attack from “the enemy” and a 1980’s – Rambo free – Afghanistan with included horseback action thrown in for good measure. The developers, Treyarch are at the helm of this project and have promised a more sprawling and open story compared to the linear first person games of past.

It appears that Activision and Treyarch are aiming to keep the CoD series fresh and interesting as the FPS genre becomes ever more saturated, so it will be interesting to see how gamers react to the information that is released. As mentioned yesterday, Black Ops 2 will launch worldwide on 13th November and for those who pre-order the game at Game will receive bonus Modern Warfare 3 content.
