Media Molecule have taken the sweet step in removing the “Boo” system in their latest LittleBigPlanet 2 system update. In a statement from the site, they site the reason as to cut down on hurt feelings and encourage creativity in the world of LBP.

The site states:

There a few things more disheartening than seeing a sad face on a level you’ve spent a lot of time on, especially if it’s the first feedback you get.
We have removed Boos from level ratings in a bid to encourage creativity in the community, and cut down on hurt feelings.

Other features in the 1.12 update include adjustments to the comments and review system to disable them if required. This, again is to prevent abuse in the world of Sackboys and Sackgirls. It’s nice to see a developer taking steps to reduce unneeded abuse in their community and actively promote good vibes.

The update will be live this week on PlayStation 3 consoles for anyone who owns the game.
