New Star Trek information

Namco Bandai are keeping the story to Star Trek relatively quiet until now. We have new details regarding the enemies Spock and Kirk will be battling in the two player co-op based game. Star Trek will be set after the JJ Abram’s 2009 movie but no word on if it will be the tie-in to the new film under development.

Lizard creatures known in the Star Trek universe as The Gorn are ruthlessly trying to take hold of the galaxy and it is up to two members of the USS enterprise: Captain James T Kirk and first officer Spock to stop them and bring peace to the galaxy. Because they are a race that span millions of planets and have billions of troops, the army of The Gorn have different sizes and abilities, some are stronger, some have poisonous venom that can cause hallucinations.

“The Gorn are among the most iconic villians in the Star Trek universe and their role in this game certainly lives up to that persona ,” said Brian Miller, Senior Vice President at Paramount Pictures and lead game producer. “Kirk and Spock find themselves in an incredibly challenging amount of mayhem as they confront the Gorn throughout the game”

Kirk and Spock will also be voiced by the films actors Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto and the supporting cast of the Enterprise also reprise their roles, Zoe Saldana, in the role of Lieutenant Uhura, Simon Pegg as the benevolent Scotty, Karl Urban as the beloved Dr. “Bones” McCoy, John Cho as Sulu and Anton Yelchin as Chekov will all appear.

Star Trek will launch on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox towards the end of the year.
