New Sonic 4: Episode 2 Trailer

Sega have today released a new trailer for Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 2, and this one features gameplay footage! Sonic and Tails are back in the classic two dimension format (some may say where they belong) and this time are up against Sonic’s ultimate enemy – Metal Sonic. As with Episode 1, the game appears to take it’s level design from previous Sonic games from the Mega Drive era.

From the trailer it is clear that Sonic and Tails will be speeding through levels such as Ice Cap Zone and Hydrocity from Sonic 3 as well as the Aquatic Ruin Zone from Sonic 2. Tails can be used for help accessing additional hidden areas in the levels. Finally, at the end of the trailer we can see Sonic and Tails combining their forces and taking on Metal Sonic in a double spin dash attack.

The look and feel of Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 remains in tact for Episode 2 but with Tails a noticeable addition this time round it appears that the latest instalment will address some of those issues found in Sonic’s first return to roots.

Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 will be available for download on the Xbox Live Marketplace & PlayStation Network on the very vague “Spring 2012” date.
