If there’s one genre of video game we’re light on, it would be the on rails space shooters. Luckily the team at 34BigThings has us covered with Redout: Space Assault. It’s coming to consoles on 22nd January.
If you’re not up to date on the original Redout, you might be surprised to hear it is a very different game. Released in 2016, it is a futuristic racer with a thumping metal soundtrack. We’re really excited to see how the latest instalment fits in with the established game.
The space shooter is a single player experience and while the first game was a racing game through and through, Space Assault is aiming to bring the fast paced, arcade style action to test your reflexes.
It’s not all shooty-shooty. The team are implementing a level of customisation to help progress through a lengthy campaign filled with exotic locations around the solar system.
Redout: Space Assault is a prequel to the first game and aims to explain how the crazy madness of the races came to be in existence. CEO of 34BigThings, Valerio Di Donato has said:
“We are thrilled to deliver another exciting chapter of the Redout saga. Redout: Space Assault is an adrenaline-filled space shooter with a captivating story that will uncover the mysteries behind the reckless AG races of the original Redout,”
Valerio Di Donato, CEO of 34BigThings
Arcade shooter Redout: Space Assault brings the action to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 & Xbox One on 22nd. January.
