Yakuza Kiwami 3 And Dark Ties Is Coming In 2026

SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) Studio have announced Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, is coming in 2026. As part of RGG Studio’s recent livestream event celebrating 20 years of the Yakuza/Like A Dragon franchise, the studio announced a full remake of the third entry in the series. The Dark Ties, component is a new story that focuses on the game’s antagonist, Yoshitaka Mine.

Set for release on 12 February 2026, Yakuza Kiwami 3 joins Kazuma Kiryu and his adoptive daughter Haruka Sawamura as the moved to the tropical Japanese prefecture of Okinawa to run the Morning Glory Orphanage. When both the government and the yakuza set their sights on beachfront property, Kiryu finds himself fighting to save his new life.

Dark Ties meanwhile depicts the events leading up to Yakuza 3, shedding light on Mine’s origins. It’s here we learn about his path that led him, from the head of a venture company, to be immersed in the world of the yakuza.

The reworked Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties will be available for PC, PS5, PS4, Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S. As the game has been rebuilt from the ground up, a new battle system emerges. Players can swap between two powerful fighting styles: “Dragon of Dojima: Kiwami,” the traditional fighting style seen in previous games, along with a new “Ryukyu Style,” a technical weapon-based action style inspired by traditional Okinawan weapon arts.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Yakuza game if there wasn’t some silliness involved. Taking a break from the main action, you’re able to start your own biker gang in the “Legendary Baddie, Bad Boy Dragon” mode before setting off with the Ryukyu Gal Gang, a group of lady bikers out to protect the streets of Okinawa. Those who preorder either the physical or digital version of Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties will get the opportunity to add the Ichiban Legendary Lad, Ichiban Kasuga to the Ryukyu Gal Gang. If you wanted something more violent then Dark Ties offers “Hell’s Arena,” an underground fight club where players can enjoy fights under a variety of unique rules.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties will launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam) on 12 February, 2026.
