Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition Drops Onto Nintendo Switch and Switch 2

Aspyr and Crystal Dynamics have today shadow dropped Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition onto Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The 2013 reboot tells Lara Croft’s origin story from a young archaeologist into a hardened survivor, and all-round Tomb Raider.

The Definitive Edition includes all of the game’s original downloadable content, including six Lara Croft outfits, eight multiplayer maps and four multiplayer characters. On top of that, digital versions of the Dark Horse comic Tomb Raider: The Beginning, Brady Games’ mini-art book Tomb Raider: The Art of Survival, and the “Final Hours of Tomb Raider” developer video series are also included.

Players looking to join Lara’s rebooted story can pick up the game from the Nintendo e-shop for £16.39, with a 10% discount until 24 November. If that wasn’t enough, owners of Aspyr’s previously released Tomb Raider I-III Remastered or Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered on Nintendo Switch are eligible for an additional discount 10% discount on Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. This is stackable so there’s a 30% off for owners of both titles.

With Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition now available on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch, expectations are set that Aspyr could soon add the rest of the reboot trilogy.

Since Crystal Dynamics have found a new home under the Embracer group in 2022, the team have been working on a new entry in the Tomb Raider series. While development is a closely guarded secret, it seems that the team are trying to keep Lara’s legacy in the minds of players with all of these remasters. Hopefully there’s not too much more of a wait for Ms Croft’s next big adventure.
