Gamers have been complaining about the lack of 3DS games for some time now, whilst Ocarina of Time 3DS is an amazing title and there are a few other 3DS games out there, the significant lack of software is what’s holding up higher adoption rates. Yes, the price cut has surely got a few people into the stores to buy the system, but lack of games will stop them from coming back to it, and this is exactly what Guillemot has said:
I think it’s a question of coming with enough games [more] than the price. For sure the price was too high and it was a big boost when they changed it, it really was a good idea.
Now we will see. When you look at the DS everybody was saying: ‘This machine is never going to sell,’ and after a year it took off rapidly. For sure there are competitors – iPhone and all the other machines – but it will depend eventually on software. If the software is good, it should do well.
He also commented, as previously stated, that the Wii U looks good. But the importance needs to be placed on the system that’s currently out there, the Nintendo 3DS. More games, and more people will buy them.
