RuneScape has seen it’s fair share of shake ups but levelling The Duel Arena has been it’s biggest change for a while. The old PvP combat area which originally launching in 2004 has been flattened to make way for a new way to upskill your characters and mix with other players, turning the competitive arena into a co-operative place to play.

Following a cataclysmic earthquake, the Duel arena has been destroyed. Over the course of the next two weeks, players need to work together to turn the ruins of the arena from a bloodthirsty fighting pit, to a tranquil oasis. In Het’s Oasis, players will be able to spend their time learning new skills and participating in new mini-quests and challenges.

By working as a community, rather than against each other, players are able to rebuild the area by taking part in daily tasks with rewards based not only on their own progress, but on the progress of the whole community. By participating in the rejuvenation of Het’s Oasis, players can get a new crocodile pet, new title, desert-themed cosmetic armour and a lovely pair of resilient ‘Gators’ footwear.

Once this rejuvination is complete, the Agility, Hunter and Farming skills, as well as numerous side quests will be made available in the long running MMO.

RuneScape can be played on PC, iOS & Android devices, with Het’s Oasis launching today.
