Don’t you just hate it when you find yourself trapped in a dark, grungy castle, where the only possibility of escape is relying on your own tactical brain power and one other friend that you desperately hope has enough wit to help you? Oh, you actually like that sort of thing? Well then, We Were Here Forever is the right game for you!

Developed and published by Total Mayhem Games, We Were Here Forever was earlier released in 2022 for PC and now the rest of the gaming community is going to have their chance to test the limits of their friendships when the record-breaking entry in the series comes to consoles on 31st January 2023.

Fans of the series will find themselves back in the enigmatic Castle Rock, where you and your designated partner will awaken locked up and separated, with nothing but your wits and a walkie-talkie for communication. As the two of you traverse the sinister dungeons and haunted castle, you will put your cunning together to solve stupefying puzzles, solve the mystery of the town of Rockbury and, hopefully, escape.

With award-winning puzzle design, an exciting 12+ hour storyline, and a freeform style of play that allows players to unravel their own twist of fate that can differ from those who came before, We Were Here Forever promises to deliver thrills, chills, and challenges unlike any game in the series before.

Not only will the game be available on PlayStation 4 and 5, as well as Xbox One and the Xbox Series X/S, it’s also going to be cross-platform. So have no fear, if you ruin the bond with your closest friends through the trials and tribulations of solving tasking conundrums, you can just make new lasting friendships in the other console and PC pools.

As the fourth instalment of the We Were Here series, We Were Here Forever stays true to its predecessors well received formula as a cooperative first-person adventure game, where good communication and effective teamwork is vital to solve a slew of dastardly puzzles. It’s also standalone to the rets of the series, so you don’t need to have played them all to enjoy the newest entry.

With the prestige of becoming one of the Top Steam Releases of May 2022, receiving praise from many critics who were impressed with the games unique, cooperative nature, and boasting several awards including Best Game Design from the Dutch Game Awards, We Were Here Forever is one of those rare gaming experiences you won’t want to miss out on. If you’re still unconvinced, read VGamingNews’ own in-depth PC review from earlier in the year and decide for yourselves.

And just remember – friendship can be fleeting, but being trapped in haunted castle that eludes all sense of time and space can potentially be forever!

We Were Here Forever is out on PC now and coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and Xbox One on 31st January.
