BioWare have shown off a CGI trailer for the next Dragon Age title as well as a teaser for their next Mass Effect entry. Both seem firmly set for the new-generation of consoles but no release dates were given, suggesting that both games are years away.

First up we have the Dragon Age trailer and with it, our first look at how the action-RPG is shaping up. The theme of the trailer is that a new hero (you) will be coming to save Thedas. That’s really it and it appears that the game is still in the early days of development.

Dropped at the end of The Game Awards, we saw a return to the Milky Way in the next Mass Effect game. After Mass Effect: Andromeda failed to meet the developer’s expectations, they decided to return to our galaxy to explore the fall out in the ending to Mass Effect 3.

This game is certainly not as far along as Dragon Age, so don’t expect any more information for a while, however it’s worth remembering that the remastered Mass Effect Trilogy is coming out early next year, so that gives gamers a chance to catch up on the series so far.

Expect Dragon Age 4 to be released first. It’s aiming for a 2022 launch but we’d hazard a guess this is an optimistic date. Mass Effect 4 (or whatever it ends up being called) will follow afterwards.
