Bladed Fury Console Trailer, Game Out 22 January
We might have been out of the game for a little while but now that we’re back we’re going to look at some up and coming games that we’re excited to play. Since there are a lot of games that appeal to a range of gamers and everyone knows that FIFA and Call of Duty exist, we’re going to predominantly focus on the more independent side of things.
Bladed Fury is first up. It’s already out on Steam, but Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo versions are being released on 22nd January.

Created by NExT Studios and published by PM Studios, we have a lovely 2D hack and slash with roots in ancient China – with a dash of typical video game surrealism of course!
From the trailer below, Bladed Fury shows slick slicing and dicing of multiple enemies, and an epic soundtrack to suit the ancient Chinese aesthetic.
We’re excited for this as it is giving off some serious Guacamelee! vibes. The combat looks fun and the story of Princess Ji on a quest for revenge is always good motivation to tear through hordes of enemies.
Bladed Fury released on Steam back in 2018 and currently has a very respectable score of 9/10 on the platform. Metacritic has it in the 70s with the User score in the 80s so it’s safe to say people are getting enjoyment out of the game.
Bladed Fury is finally coming to PlayStation 4 (& PS5 via backward compatibility), Switch and the Xbox family on 22nd January. Physical editions for the PS4 and Switch versions are available in North America. There’s no word on European versions but we’ve reached out to PM games to see if there are plans.
