2K and Gearbox software have announced that the complete Borderlands collection, known as Borderlands Collection: Pandora’s Box, will release across digital platforms from tomorrow – 1st September 2023. The package contains the base games from BorderlandsBorderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-SequelTales from the BorderlandsBorderlands 3, and New Tales from the Borderlands as well as all of the DLC released so far.

The first three Borderlands games are first-person looter-shooters, set in an open world, with some role-playing game elements. The two “Tales from” games are the exceptions as they are episodic adventures. The cell-shaded shooter allows players to gain randomised loot. Throughout the game, players will be seeking Vaults on the planet Pandora.

Pandora is a world that is rich with resources that entice several megacorporations to send colony ships there to capitalise on resources only to come up short. As a result of this, the corporations decide to move on, leaving their work force to fend for themselves.

The package will launch across PlayStation, Steam and Xbox platforms for a suggested retail price of £123.99, but 2K have confirmed that there will be an introductory offer of £49.99 during the launch period.

If you own one or two of the games and want to upgrade, 2K have got you covered as you’ll have access to a special upgrade bundle. How to claim this is laid out below:

  • Xbox – If you already own a digital copy of any Borderlands game within the Borderlands Collection: Pandora’s Box on Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One and want to complete your collection, the Microsoft Store automatically entitles you to a special £24.99 price on this bundle.
  • Steam – If you already own a digital copy of any Borderlands game within the Borderlands Collection: Pandora’s Box on Steam, you’ll only pay for the content you don’t already own. This will be reflected on the Steam Store page for Borderlands Collection: Pandora’s Box.
  • PlayStation – If you already own a digital or physical copy of Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition or Borderlands: The Handsome Collection for PlayStation 4, or a digital or physical copy of Borderlands 3 on PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4, and want to complete your collection, you can access a special £24.99 upgrade offer on Borderlands Collection: Pandora’s Box by launching one of these titles and following the in-game instructions.

Interestingly, the PlayStation upgrade allows the discs to be used to make use of the bundle, where as Xbox players can only utilise the Pandora’s Box upgrade for the digital versions and it is expected that you’ll still be able to buy each title separately if you are only missing one or two games in the franchise.

Eagle-eyed players will notice that the package only contains the main story of the franchise so far, and the table top RPG inspired spin-off, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, is not part of this collection.

Borderlands Collection: Pandora’s Box will release on PlayStation, Steam and Xbox digital store fronts on 1st September 2023.
