Carmageddon, it’s a legendary series of games and one that I only know for a single title – Carmageddon 64. Which is arguably one of the poorest games on the Nintendo 64. Whilst the original title on the PC may have been passable – I can’t comment, the port was brought to us by the same people who made Superman 64. THe creator will shortly be talking about the Carmageddon experience and his attempts to get community funding for a new game in Brighton.

Carmageddon: Reincarnation is going to be entirely funded by Kickstarter, which is a community site where investors big and small can donate money to an idea and see it through to production. They don’t necessarily earn money back, but sometimes they do and othertimes they get early copies or their name mentioned in the project.

Of the $400,000 goal, the PC game has now raised $300,000 with 16 days left before the bids expire. So it’s likely to make it.

The makers will be talking at the Brighton based Rezzed show. Tickets for the show are available for a day at £12 or the weekend for £20 from the Rezzed Game Show website, which is from the same people as the EuroGamer Expo and is all about PC and Indie games.
