Cyber Shadow; A Side Scrolling Ninja ‘Em Up Comes To Consoles & PC On 26th January
Ninjas are always cool. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Developers, Mechanical Head Studios and Yacht Club games certainly agree with us as they present Cyber Shadow; a 2D side scroller focused on exploration that harks back to the wonderful 8-bit era of video games. It’s coming to all consoles and PC on 26th January.
You play as Shadow, a ninja without a clan, who’s out to stop the evil Dr Progen who has taken over the world with his army of synthetics. The story is told via hand drawn cutscenes that firmly draw inspiration from video games of the late 1980s/early 1990s.
The game looks beautiful with the art style of the cutscenes as well as the detailed pixel art of the main game. As you progress through the different areas of the map, Shadow will unlock more skills and weapons such as double jumping, and that ninja staple, shuriken that’ll be used to explore more of the city.
However, it’s not all looks and going through the motions gameplay wise. The developers over at Mechanical Head have stated Cyber Shadow won’t just look like an old game. They’ve warned players to expect the old 8-Bit challenge to be present. Expect to be faced with pixel perfect timing and restarting multiple times… We can’t wait!
Cyber Shadow will launch on 26th January for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One & PC.
