Playtonic Friends have announced that their first game in the world of publishing video games, Demon Turf will be coming to PlayStation 4 & 5 as well as the previously announced Xbox family of consoles, PC and Nintendo Switch. To celebrate the news, the developers Fabraz have released a demo on Steam… RIGHT NOW.

Demon Turf is an ode to the early days of 3D platforming. It’s 64 bit look comes straight out of Banjo-Kazooie. You can certainly see how the union between Fabraz and Playtonic Friends came about. The main character is Beebz, an ambitious demon who has one goal: taking over the all of the Demon Turfs and dethroning the Demon King. It’s shaping up to be full of sass and humour, just like the kind of features Playtonic embedded in the late 90s when they were working at Rare.

The ‘demo’ isn’t actually a demo of the game. Every Thursday, Fabraz will introduce a brand new challenge built within Demon Turf. These trials presents a fresh leaderboard for players to climb and win prizes. Closer to the release of the game, a demo of the game’s first two levels.

Demon Turf is due out across all platforms in 2021.
