Capcom have confirmed that a demo for Dragons Dogma will be available from the Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation Network from 25th April 2012. The demo will allow players to create their characters – known as Pawns and import them to the finished game when that releases at the end of May.

Dragons Dogma comes from the studio responsable for creating the action in Resident Evil 4 and Devil May Cry 4. Set in a huge open world, the game is an action combat game with the freedom to explore and interact in a rich, living and breathing world. Players will journey to the Rift where they can share their own Pawns with friends and be rewarded with treasure, knowledge of the world and strategies for taking down enemies. Conversely, players can borrow friends’ Pawns with the specific skills or experience required to tackle a particular quest.

The pawn system offers flexible combat assistance with a main pawn companion that you can train throughout the game and two secondary pawns that can vary wildly to fit your combat style. Three Pawns are playable at anyone time and as well as sharing Pawns created by friends, there will be a number of preloaded characters on the game disc.

As if that wasn’t enough, Dragons Dogma will come with a code to be redeemed for an early access Resident Evil 6 demo. Dragons Dogma launches on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on 25th May.
