EA have taken the UFC licence from THQ

In its E3 key note showcase, EA announced that they have reached a multi game, multi format deal with the heads of the UFC or ultimate fighting champion franchise to the surprise of the industry. The licence was previously held by THQ.

This means that EA have further strengthened their status as the go to company for the majority of popular sports from all over the world. It is a major blow to THQ who are suffering greatly with recent layoffs and the cancellation of titles, only focusing on money making game series.
