EA have let slip that for those who preorder and purchase Medal of Honor Warfighter will be given early access to a beta version of Battlefield 4. This confirms that the Battlefield franchise will not alternate with the Bad Company series as previously thought much like Black Ops and the Modern Warfare series. There are a couple of draw backs to this however…

The first is that beta access will not start until Autumn next year. Thats a whole 12 months away. What’s more is that Battlefield 4 will likely be pushed back to the next generation of consoles as the game itself will not be released until 2014 due to the late release of the beta trails.

A statement from DICE and EA state that Battlefield 3 will continue to be supported until the release of Battlefield 3: “We will continue to support BF3. DICE and EA are dedicated to continuing our support for Battlefield 3. Just as we’ve continued to support and maintain Bad Company 2, we intend to continue providing the best Battlefield 3 experience we can well into the future and past the release of End Game and Battlefield 4.

Also it is worth mentioning that while Battlefield 4 is potentially two years away, that Medal of Honor Warfighter is due for release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles on 23rd October.
