Full disclosure, this news article will be a tad biased as Joe! is a huge Evil Dead fan. Sorry about this.

Saber Interactive came out with a shocker during The Game Awards last night and announced Evil Dead: The Game starring Bruce Campbell as Ashley Williams. It is coming out in 2021 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4 & Xbox One. We have the first look trailer inside. Groovy.

The Evil Dead video games have been dormant since the PlayStation 2 era’s Evil Dead Regeneration. After the sublime Ash Vs Evil Dead TV series was put too bed a few years ago and actor Bruce Campbell hung up the boomstick for good, it felt the Evil Dead franchise had run it’s course.

Except there was a glimmer of hope when Dead by Daylight reintroduced Ash to the world. Now we have a fully fledged Evil Dead video game spanning the entire movie & TV series to fill that deadite shaped hole in our lives.

The PR surrounding the game is:

For the first time ever, the Evil Dead universe comes together in one over-the-top experience starring boomstick-brandishing, chainsaw-wielding horror hero Ashley J. Williams.

Work together as a team of four survivors, exploring, looting, crafting, managing your fear, and finding key artifacts to seal the breach between worlds. Or take control of the powerful Kandarian Demon to hunt Ash and his friends while possessing Deadites, the environment, and even the survivors themselves as you seek to swallow their souls!

As you and your teammates take on the Deadites, you’ll be able to explore multiple locations such as the cabin in the woods and collect weird and wacky weapons including Ash’s chainsaw and boomstick. There is also a progression tree to level up your skills.

You might have guessed but we’re excited for this one and Evil Dead: The Game will launch across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4 & Xbox One at some point in 2021. Come get some.
