Fancy an Xbox for $99???

Well if you are American then you are in luck, Microsoft have announced a plan where if you purchase a two year contract, they will give you an Xbox 360, Kinect and Xbox live Gold for $99 upfront.

The Verge and other sites have reported that a 4GB console, Kinect sensor and a two-year subscription will be priced at $15 per month with the upfront cost. It will incorporate Xbox Live Gold and potentially some additional streaming content from other providers such as sports and cable firms.

It will be interesting to see if this approach makes it to the UK – much like mobile phone contracts which have exploded in popularity as the cost of handsets has increased. This prices the Xbox 360 cheaper than the Nintendo Wii based on the $99 fee.
