FIFA. It’s the most popular football video game on the entire planet. Every year there is a new version that improves on the previous game to provide a near perfect simulation that is only surpassed by playing the real game instead. This year, as well as appearing on all the current range of consoles, EA have announced a Wii U version of the game.

The Wii U version will have the same high definition graphics seen on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but will have 3 different ways to play. First up is the family co-op mode. This allows 5 people to play on one team. Four will be on the pitch and the fifth will be the manager who can controls the rest of the team via the Gamepad. They can send players to support attacking runs or help defensively if required.

If you wanted to play a season as a manager instead of a team then Fifa 13 on the Wii U will let you do so and you can keep up to date with player statistics on the gamepad while watching the action unfold on the TV screen. As well as this, you can also invite players from all around the world to a kick about and send messages via the touchscreen built into the gamepad.

Finally, EA seem to have resolved the kick and hope issue as you can now accurately aim free kicks, penalties and other set pieces by activating the Touch Screen Shooting by shaking the gamepad. Fifa 13 will be a launch title for the Wii U this Christmas time or is available on any other console on 28th September.
