Fireburst lets players get behind the wheels of Buggies, Muscle Cars, Trucks & 4x4s and race on paved racecourses and insane off-road tracks. Using the Unreal Engine 3, racers keep opponents at bay in blazing fashion by blasting them senseless.

Features included are more than 15 different racing and destruction maps, consisting of airfields, docks, oilrigs, sewers, refineries, warehouses and waterfalls. 16 cars are available in the four different categories each boasts a different “Fireboost” ability: Fireball, Firewheels, Firewall and Fireblast.

Players are also able to customize any car with more than 250 car skins. Also there are 16 eccentric characters to race with and they aren’t limited to one class of car either, meaning the player can play with who they want in the car they want using a look they have chosen. Fireblast provides single and multiplayer options with up to four people playing locally using split screen and presumably online play as well which hasn’t been officially confirmed.

The game is due to hit the PSN and Xbox live this summer in the US with a UK date not yet confirmed. The trailer can be found below and keep an eye out for one of the characters – he looks like he is based on a certain car insurance selling rock star!
