NetherRealm and Warner Bros Games have released the first trailer featuring Omni-Man in Mortal Kombat 1. The fighter is the first of six brawlers to be released as part of the Kombat Pack 1 DLC and will release sometime in November 2023.

Omni-Man, who has his origins in the Invincible comic book series and the Amazon TV show, is a brutal villain who is out to prove he is better than the humans he surrounds himself with. From the trailer below, we can see NetherRealm have perfectly captured Omni-Man as he works his way through the Mortal Kombat 1 roster with ruthless precision. We can also hear that he’s voiced by the Oscar winning actor JK Simmons, who voices him in the animated series.

Based on the sheer amount of carnage, Omni-man’s introduction into the Mortal Kombat universe is certainly a welcome one. We see nods to the comics and TV series with his finisher, which involves Omni-man holding his victim as a train ploughs through him, as well as a bit of eye popping.

The Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack will introduce six playable characters over the course of the next six months. Three new playable guest fighters – Omni-Man is scheduled for a November 2023 drop before Peacemaker (The Suicide Squad) hits in Winter 2023/2024. Another Amazon show, The Boys, is getting representation in the form of Homelander and will hit consoles and PC in Spring 2024.

Along with the guest announcements, three Mortal Kombat fighters will also be added, Quan Chi some point in Winter 2023/2024, Ermac in Spring 2024 and Takeda Takahashi will hit Summer of next year. Five new Kameo Fighters will round out the pack, Tremor who was seen alongside Omni-man in the latest trailer, will be joined by Ferra, Khameleon, and Mavado. Jean Claud Van Damme’s version of Johnny Cage is already available.

Mortal Kombat 1 is available now for PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X|S.
