iOS updates 21/06/2011

We have today’s picks of the latest iOS applications for iPhone, iPod & iPad. With there being so many being released every week, we will report on as many as humanly possible. As the majority of games are promoted via word of mouth a link is included for each game to take you to iTunes to play – just click the name of the game! After all it’s nice to support the indies!

Bug Wing (£1.19) on the App store, gives control of one of four colourful bugs, that glide across the Great Pond trying to locate missing pollen while landing safely on lily pads to prevent the little critter from ending up in the drink as fish food. There is a multiplayer of up to four people to compete for the highest scores!

Free for a limited time is Diamonds Capture Pro from Star Arcade. This is one addictive puzzle game along the lines of Bejeweled or Jewel Quest. The app sees a 10 x 10 grid and the objective is simple – match 3 in a row to claim areas of the grid. With the 2 player mode, the game is won by capturing 45% of the grid first!

The second Bejeweled clone comes in the form of DCC. A free app from Korean developers emusegames. Featuring funky animated blocks, and featuring the game centre to play against friends in the multiplayer and over 30 levels to play through. Oh and it’s free!

Ewe Doodle (£0.59) is a sheep survival game in which the sheep have to be saved from being turned into chops! Guide the sheep by tapping the screen where there is safety, or by dragging and dropping the sheep for a quicker result. Collecting items will help the cute sheep fight back against her attackers!

Hello Kitty Wallpaper & Dress Up (£1.79) gives the opportunity to add cute boarders, stamps and other Hello Kitty featured images to photos taken on the iPhone. The app also comes with wallpapers to dress up backgrounds on the iPhone and iPod!

Ever fancied working in a packing office, making sure funny shaped packages are thrown into the correct hole? Well Peter Packer (£0.59/£1.19 HD) will cater to that need! Points are earned by placing correct packages in their respective holes. Combos can be earned for multiple hits to the correct chutes. A fun app by the same company that brought Angry Birds.

Recently GAME OF THE WEEK – Pudding Panic (£.059/£1.79HD) is set over 48 gorgeous levels, guiding a pudding through mazes avoiding obstacles and evil enemies such as witches, skeletons and other monsters before the poor pudding passes out from fear.
