Konami and Bloober Team Reunite for Silent Hill Remake

The original Silent Hill is the next game in Konami’s survival horror series to get the remake treatment. The Japanese developers are once again teaming up with Bloober Team to remake the 1999 PlayStation 1 classic.

During Konami’s Press Start presentation, a teaser video simply said, “Silent Hill, now in development.” The animation was set to Akira Yamaoka’s iconic theme and confirmed Bloober Team’s involvement. No release date or platforms have been announced.

There has been no official press release surrounding the game, but Konami’s social account later posted the video alongside the caption; The Fear Of Blood Tends To Create Fear For The Flesh… These are the first lines players see in the original game.

With the success of the Silent Hill 2 remake, again handled by Bloober Team, it seems like a no-brainer for Konami to press ahead with a remake of the first Silent Hill. With games like The Observer and Layers of Fear, the Polish developers have proven their mettle with modern horror games.

The remake of Silent Hill is in development.
