The 6th and final wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is now available, marking the last update for Nintendo’s headline racer. The update completes the additional 48 courses Nintendo have been adding into the game since 2022.

Along with the new tracks, new racers have been added to the line-up. From the villains, we can now choose from Birdo, Kamek, Petey Piranha and Wiggler. On the good side we have Funky Kong, Diddy Kong, Pauline, Peachette joining the race.

Along with the addition to the final wave of tracks, players will also notice that their game will be updated to version 3.0, bringing a few new changes to the game. A new “Music” button has been added to the top menu so players can listen to any of the track’s music when not in a race.

Other players can join online rooms, even if they aren’t on gamers’ friend lists. Players can “Search by Room ID” to join any room. If the owners of the room don’t want this, they can control the permissions by pressing -/+ to set them accordingly.

Finally, players have more ways to unlock Mii Suits as Nintendo have expanded the amiibo needed to unlock certain Mii suits.

  • “Varia Suit” can be unlocked when using a Metroid series amiibo.
  • “Hylian Suit” can be unlocked when using a Legend of Zelda series amiibo.
  • “Kirby Suit” can be unlocked when using a Kirby series amiibo.
  • “Daisy Suit” can be unlocked when using a Daisy amiibo.
