Neptunia x SENRAN KAGURA: Ninja Wars Launches October

From publishers Idea Factory and developers Compile Heart & Tamsoft comes the cross over to end all anime-style RPGs as Neptunia x SENRAN KAGURA: Ninja Wars is lining up for an October release on the PlayStation 4. The team have also announced that the limited edition physical set of the game will shortly be up for pre-order.

In Neptunia x SENRAN KAGURA: Ninja Wars, we head Gamninjustri, a riff of Neptunia’s regular setting of Gameindustri. This place is where all manner of ninjas gather. Tensions between nations both the Neptunia & SENRAN KAGURA series are at an all time high as they compete to see which style of Ninja Arts is the best. While the squabbling took place they neglected to notice the army of mechanical ninjas taking over.

The nations must put their differences aside to take on the bigger threat in an action RPG featuring a cast of 10 playable characters. Each character possess a unique set of skills, known as Ninja Art Skills and by chaining these skills together bot Ninjas and shinobi will fall by the wayside.

When Neptunia x SENRAN KAGURA: Ninja Wars releases on 29th October (26th for US Players) a limited edition will also be available.

Pre-orders from the US IF! site are now live, while those in Europe have to wait until 28th September.

If you’re not familiar with each of the series, The Neptunia series follows the story of Nep, Blanc, Vert & Noire, typically in an RPG style with visual novel elements. It’s very tongue in cheek and while the character models have an element of fan service, the games often break the fourth wall and tell players how ridiculous they look.

Senran Kagura leans more heavily into the fan service side of things. These are typically adventure/beat em up games featuring a cast of female ninja battling against other factions. It’s drawn criticism for it’s deployment of ‘boob physics’ especially since they originally released on the Nintendo 3DS.

From how Neptunia x SENRAN KAGURA: Ninja Wars is shaping up, we suspect the issues surrounding the female characters will be addressed in game as it appears to be more of a Neptunia title.

Neptunia x SENRAN KAGURA: Ninja Wars will launch on the PlayStation 4 on 29th October in PAL region and 26th for North America.
