Nintendo Owns SuperMario.com

Well, it would seem obvious they would right? But Nintendo have only just won the rights to the domain name after a legal battle. We might not hearĀ  much about it for a while but we can be sure they’ll be putting it to good use in the future for Super Mario games across the consoles. It is very important to grab the domain name most relevant to any site and what could be more relevant then SuperMario.com for Nintendo and Super Mario fans across the world.

However, Nintendo haven’t always been quite so fortunate at the end of such legal battles for domain names. For example they didn’t claim the rights to LegendofZelda.com, a widely popular adventure game first released in 1986 and still running today with the eagerly awaited Zelda Skywards Sword displayed at E3 2011. Of course it makes complete sense for Nintendo or any gaming firm to own the title in their domain name for their biggest sellers, however, this has proven on more than one occasion not to be the case.
