Firenut Games have announced Chrysolite, a new 2D-pixel art adventure game that’s set to release in 2024 across PC and consoles. The game is currently part of the Metroidvania Fusion event that’s running on Steam from 4th – 11th March.

Chrysolite has been developed by solo developer José Manuel Conesa Hernández, and aims to be a 2D exploration adventure that draws players in with an intriguing narrative and simple, yet challenging gameplay. The first trailer has been embedded below to give an idea of how Chrysolite is shaping up.

The game has you playing as a young thief who is exploring the dangerous remains of a once-prosperous kingdom. Fight against hordes of terrifying monsters and make your way through challenging platforming sections to uncover the clues to unlock the dark story of the last days of the kingdom.

Chrysolite‘s art style harks back to the days of the Atari but a quick glance shows that José Manuel Conesa Hernández has taken inspiration from modern games like Metroid and Castlevania in creating what looks to be a challenging adventure to sink your teeth into.

For those interested in picking up Chrysolite can download a demo from Steam right now. The game will also release on PlayStation 5, Switch and Xbox SeriesX|S later in the year.

Chrysolite will launch for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch in summer 2024.
