Nintendo have confirmed that Project Zero 2 is coming to the Wii in the United Kingdom and Europe. While not exactly the Project Zero 4 (Fatal Frame IV: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse in Japan) that fans have been waiting for a remake of the second game in the survival horror series shows Nintendo finally understand there is a market for these popular titles.

For those who are unfamiliar with the series, Project Zero or Fatal Frame as it is known in Japan is a survival horror series of games that was first seen on the PlayStation 2 way back in 2001. The game featured Miku who took off to a haunted mansion in search for her brother. She had to escape from the mansion and search for her brother. Armed only with a camera which was the only way to see and stop the spirits a slow, moody and more importantly, terrifying experience ensued.

Project Zero 2: Wii Edition is a remake of the 2003 game Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly, which was released on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox consoles. Again a camera is used to take photographs of ghosts and dispell them back to where ever they came from.

Twin sisters Mio and Mayu Amakura are visiting the spot where they used to play as children, which is due to be swallowed by a dam soon, when Mayu, who walks with a limp after a childhood accident, follows a mysterious crimson butterfly deep into the woods. Mio, concerned for her twin, follows, and the two girls are led to a village shrouded in fog. While it seems abandoned, the twins soon realize that the tortured souls of the dead roam, forever reliving the day of the failed ceremony that trapped them in this state.

Project Zero 2: Wii Edition is currently scheduled for 28th June release in Japan. No confirmed release date for Europe has been announced but when it is, we will surely let you know.
