Using their Gamescom conference, Capcom announced a new IP in the form of a third person futuristic shooter – Remember Me. While it was shown at last year’s convention in Germany, it went largely unnoticed as concentration on established properties took away the attention. This year however, Capcom has given a full reveal including gameplay footage.

Nilin is a former Elite Memory Hunter who was able to break into and alter people’s memories. A Fearful government wiped her memory and threw her into jail. Upon her release she sets upon gaining her thoughts and memories back, aided by her only friend who knows the truth.

The game will be set in the year 2084 in a place known as Neo-Paris and Nilin has the power to change perceptions of the public in game which will effect the way characters act in the world around her. Remember Me will launch in May next year for the PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360.
