Santa Monica Studio, the developers behind the 2018 God of War have advised that they’ve patched Kratos’s Viking adventure to take advantage of the PlayStation 5’s power.

In a blog post of the team’s website, the free update combines the PS4 Pro’s separate visual and performance modes into one enhanced setting on the PlayStation 5.

God of War will now target a 60 frames per second performance as well as being upscaled to 4K (native is 2160p). That is, if you’re playing on a 4K screen that is.

This update to the three year old game comes at no extra cost and is available if you own the game or play it as part of the PlayStation Plus Collection.

If you’ve not played the game, and with the sequel coming later in the year, now is the best time to jump into God of War and relieve all of the BOY memes.
