Sony have today unveiled not one but TWO tablets to rival the iPad. They will both have the PlayStation name and run the Android operating system much like the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play phone. The first tablet – the Sony S1 will have a 9.4 inch touchscreen and will be the original tablet format.

The S2 is a much more intriguing product. This device will have two 5.5 inch screens and be styled more like a Nintendo DS rather than the iPad. Both will run the Andriod 3.0 Honeycomb software and are due to launch in Autumn. They will offer Sony’s Qriocity Music and Video services as well as the PlayStation Suite and the Sony e-Reader store. Music and videos are able to be streamed wirelessly to the TV or compatible Speakers. They are Wifi and also 3G certified. Unconfirmed rumours are that the S1 and S2 are 4G compatible.
