Square Enix have confirmed that a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Marvel’s Avengers is coming on 18th March. This launches alongside a free content update which gives players access to the Operation: Hawkeye – Future Imperfect mission.

The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S version of Marvel’s Avengers offers the usual higher framerates and enhanced visuals compared to the previous generation.

4K resolution on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and 1440p for Xbox Series S will be the standard presentations.

Marvel’s Avengers will make use of the SSD in each console to deliver faster loading times. Improved heroics and armour destruction, will be something Tony Stark is proud of, allowing players to be immersed in all of the chaotic destruction.

If you have the PS4 and Xbox One versions you get the additional upgrades at no extra cost provided you’re upgrading within the same console family and save files will transfer over. Cross-gen play will also be present so you can continue to play with your friends if they’ve not made the jump to the new consoles, however this is also locked to the same console family.

As mentioned, this upgrade ties into a content update featuring the other Hawkeye; Clint Barton. Marvel’s Avengers Operation: Hawkeye – Future Imperfect (what a title) carries on from the story from the recently released Taking A.I.M featuring Kate Bishop. This update introduces a new villain: Maestro, a version of Hulk with Bruce Banner’s brains and the Hulk’s strengths and abilities, now driven mad in an apocalyptic future and comes at no extra cost to any players who owns the game.

Marvel’s Avengers comes to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 18th March with the Hawkeye content dropping on the same day.
