Following on from the succesfull re-release of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Aspyr Media are once again teaming up with Lucasfilm Games to bring the standalone sequel KOTOR II: The Sith Lords to the Nintendo Switch. Whats better is that the game is out in just a few days.

Releasing on 8th June, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords tells the story of the titular darkside loving bad guys who’ve hunted the Jedi to the edge of extinction and are on the verge of crushing the Old Republic.

With the Jedi Order in ruin, the Republic’s only hope is a lone Jedi in exile struggling to reconnect with the Force. Lead a diverse crew of unique allies, make difficult choices with far-reaching consequences, and decide their destiny.

KOTOR II forces players to make difficult choices that aren’t as clear-cut as good vs evil. Each decision has a significant weight on how the story unfolds, giving players the choice to embrace the ways of the Jedi or leaving the galaxy in ruin.

There are different Jedi classes to explore, each able to wield specific Force powers, enables the main character to have unique skills and abilities.

Also present in the game is : a collection of DLC that features new crew dialogue and interactions, a bonus mission starring HK-47. A new revamped ending rounds of the additional content which will come to players as free DLC sometime after the game releases.

Earlier in the year Drew took a look at the re-release of the original KOTOR and praised how the story and RPG mechanics still hold up today saying:

There’s an engaging story with a timeless focus on good versus evil, and mechanics that allow you to choose your own destiny – something that modern-day players still absolutely love.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords will release on 8th June digitally on the Nintendo e-Shop for £14.99 / $14.99 / €14.99. A double pack featuring both games is also available for £29.99 / $29.99 / €29.99
